A resident and his dog escaped a house fire Saturday night in Hinesville. And firefighters say it all started with sparks coming from a laptop. The fire started just before 8:30 pm in the 300 block of Connor Court. The owner told firefighters that he hit his laptop and saw sparks. A few minutes later, flames were visible behind a sofa, which quickly spread throughout the living room and to the upper level of the two-story house.
