The biggest fashion moment of the year – the Met Gala was themed “The Garden of Time”, after a 1962 short story by JG Ballard that had also inspired the 2021 collection of designer Thom Browne before. With dramatic dresses, eccentric dos and a designer gala, the fashion at the Met Gala 2024 was as always a sight to behold; keeping in tandem with the theme so were the watches. From several designer watches to the theme that is literally brought to life on clothes and accessories: time took center stage.

Usher’s stunning pink Jacob & Co Ruby Billionaire, as the name suggests, is adorned with 714 pristine rubies totaling 147.65 carats, set in 18K white gold and worth a whopping $5,00,000. Musician and African idol, Tyla was a sight for sore eyes – as the singer embodied the theme of “Sands of time”. Balmain’s sand bodysuit said, it also carried a literal hourglass with sand to tell the time, as ancient as this time-keeping device might seem. A dress worth wearing on the stairs.
