With its name inspired by the famous butler and friend of Batman, the Alfred Travel luggage service has everything of a superhero in the eyes of international travelers.

The adventure began in 2010 when Anne-Sophie, Charlotte and Amée, then students, met at the University of Michigan, in the United States. Passionate about traveling (more than 60 countries visited between them), these globetrotters are often faced with the headache of carrying luggage everywhere.

The idea of ​​a concierge service has to earn and eleven years later, these airport and hotel regulars, who have always been in contact, decided to join forces improve the mobility of travelers around the world. This is how Alfred Travel was born in 2021 in Avon, near Fontainbleau. “We wanted to offer high-quality support offering customized products and services and developing our business in a responsible way,” the three entrepreneurs explain in unison.

A tailored and instant service

From the beginning, they put their concierge service on the first and last day of the trip. Indeed, these two days are traditionally devoted to logistics (flight management, hotel check-in, etc.) and for a city like Paris, which welcomes 9 million international travelers a year, this “chore” is translated every year by the loss of 9 to 18 million travel days.

To remedy this anomaly, Alfred’s support takes many forms such as the rental of personalized itineraries, welcome kits (metro card, pocket Wifi, etc.), as well as a tailored and instant service. A computer system allows to geolocate the suitcases, to know what time they are loaded and unloaded and when the customer collects them. This system will soon be supplemented by a mobile application in the production phase.

In December 2022, Alfred Travel, through its CEO Anne-Sophie Goujet, reaches the final of the “Créeuses d’Avenir” competition (“Innovation” category). Although the start-up from Seine-et-Marne did not win the prize, it was still able to benefit from significant lighting and networking. The partnerships were thus established with the tourist offices of Paris and Fontainebleau, as well as with the concierge service WeHost, opening the doors to more than 500 Airbnbs located in the capital. An opportunity that proved valuable during the recent Rugby World Cup while looking forward to the big Olympic event in Paris 2024.
