Travel warning for holidaymakers visiting Sweden as threat grows this week

Sweden is a beautiful place with a lot of history, nature and sites for holidaymakers to enjoy and more people can be prepared to visit before Eurovision.

A warning has been issued ahead of the event as there is a higher risk of protests and disrupted travel.


The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has urged Britons to be vigilant and follow the latest updates and advice if they visit in the coming days.

He stated: “The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö from May 4 to May 11. There will be a larger number of people in Malmö during this time.

“Travel around the city may be affected by travel control systems or protests. See safety and security information if you plan to be in Malmö, or attend the event.

The British government organization added that protests are more likely at this time, so Britons should be aware of this when traveling to the country.
