HA Garden House by Pham Huu Son Architects
HA Garden House by Pham Huu Son Architects is located on the outskirts of a vietnamese city, providing a retreat for weekend getaways or vacations from urban life. Situated on a plot of 600 sqm, the architectural design harmonizes with its lush green surroundings, offering modern amenities while integrating with the nearby landscape.
The house is designed primarily as a holiday home residence and includes a living room, kitchen, outdoor dining area, and two bedrooms – a master suite and a guest bedroom. These areas, although distinct, are linked to create a sense of continuity and proximity. One challenge was its proximity to a busy local road, which caused noise and pollution. To address this, the house has been positioned towards the rear of the plot, facing a quiet street that allows ample morning sunlight. A parking lot in front creates further separation from the noisy street.

The entrance to the house is through a green corridor and a natural stone path, enhanced by lush plants and a Koi pond, creating a welcoming and natural space. The architectural design is based on the concept of the Five Elements, using the silhouette of five mountains to evoke stability and harmony. Pham Huu Son Architects achieved this through variations in the height of the roof and the integration of greenery, blending the design into the landscape.
Natural stone features are incorporated throughout, from the bathrooms to the gardens, using locally sourced materials for the floors to ensure uniqueness and sustainability. The home’s warm, earthy color palette and minimalist interior convey a sense of comfort and modernity. HA Garden House represents a model for quiet retreats in suburban Vietnam, promoting sustainability through local materials and design that embraces the natural environment.
