Tenways’ New CGO600 Pro E-Bike Surprises With Stunning Agility, Style, and Affordability

Urban mobility devices come in all shapes and sizes, but there are few as loved as the bicycle. Well, the last few years have seen an explosion in electrified two-wheelers, and a recent addition to the Tenways repertoire blew me away.

Folks, the e-bike in front of us today is none other than Tenways’ latest addition to their growing e-bike lineup, and while a new e-bike is a common occurrence these days, I am currently testing. this piece of aluminum and I couldn’t wait until the review to share a bit of what’s going on with this $1,700 (€1,700 for Europe) rolling goodness.

Now, to understand a bit of what is going on here, we need to take a look at Tenways. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because we’ve covered their work before, and if we consider that this cycling team is based in the Netherlands, a nation known for its love of cycling, then everything the CGO600 Pro has to offer makes a lot of sense. Of course, this team has only been around since 2021, but what they are offering is a steal.

For example, I was approached by Tenways to test this machine, and after receiving the box in which it was shipped, I could not be surprised at how light it was; I can handle everything by myself. This is made possible by the fact that Tenways has stripped the Pro of all unnecessary tools. Oh, and an aluminum frame really helps this urban machine shine. Overall, the manufacturer boasts of this bugger weighing as much as 18 kg (40 lbs), but you’ll have to stay for the short-term review to see if that’s true.

Apart from the aluminum frame, another way that this manufacturer was able to maintain this EVThe weight of the minimum is with the presence of some surprisingly delicious components. For example, everything is operated by nothing more than a Gates carbon belt drive, removing the countless layers of steel that makes up a gearbox. Yes, it is a single speed, but only at first glance.

Wight is also kept nice and low with the presence of a stylish and removable battery that is integrated into the frame, as well as a surprisingly powerful engine from Mivice. Only 250 watts is all this little power can take it out, but the moment it kicks in, you can hit its top speed of 25 kph (15.5 mph) in less than seven rotations of your crank. We can thank a torque sensor for that.

In short, I was surprised and loved what I heard. Tenways also mentions that this thing hits a climb of ten degrees, but I’ll let you in on a secret: it can take a little more than that, as long as you’re here pumping along with it.

Another surprise came when I discharged the first full charge of this thing’s 360 Wh, 10 Ah battery. According to the manufacturer, the Pro is designed to achieve a maximum range of 100 km (62 mi). It is 1 km per percentage of battery charge, and believe it or not, this thing is close to providing precisely what the manufacturer says and I could not believe it. On my first full charge, I drove from 100% to about 23% – never completely draining your battery – and, to my surprise, had accumulated almost 70 km (43 mi) in that time, and that was while I was driving in a city with uneven terrain.

With some proper energy management during a run, you can easily go beyond that number only one charge, but you will feel the burn for sure. After all, it is a bicycle, and this is the key if you want to land your machines in the hands of cyclists; this is a solid chance.

From there, we are on comfort and ease of use. If we look carefully at the frame, we can’t see any suspension system. However, not all is lost. As standard, Tenways leaves 40 mm tires on the Pro, and apart from this is one of the reasons for its speed, it brings essential comfort while traveling in a city with cracked roads and even without pavement.

Those tires are then sitting on aluminum rims 700c, keeping the weight to a minimum once more, for as much as $ 1,700 will allow. Oh, and the seat, whatever the no-name brand is, is rather comfortable and works well with the overall geometry and rider position. You won’t have to go out and buy any gel or anything like that.

Get a pair of Tektro hydraulic brakes, keep the cockpit clean with nothing but a bell and a controller, add some fenders to keep things clean, and we’re looking at an electric bike that, for once, is in line with what it is be announced, and this is a rare sight these days.

I’m not saying it’s perfect, but for the price it costs, the ability it brings to the table, all the while still feeling like a bike, makes the Tenways worth a test ride for sure. Find a local dealer with one in stock, take it for a spin, and bring your checkbook because you could go home with a new e-bike. What did you expect? Is it an e-bike from the people who live in Bicycle Heaven (the Netherlands).
