Bondi Vet to host Earlwood pet’s day out

Bondi Vet star Dr Lisa Chimes offers her tips and tricks for pet parents and answers all your furry questions during her pet talk and Q&A at Pet’s Day Out on Sunday 19 May from 10am to 2pm at the Gough Whitlam Reserve in Sydney’s Earlwood. .

Dr Chimes (portrait) says attendees can expect to hear tips about general pet health and safety.

“Common questions can include things like grooming woes, dietary issues and skin problems,” she said.

“One of my favorite things about being a veterinarian is helping people learn about their animals. Education is such an important part of preventive health care.”

Pet owners will also hear from Canterbury SES about managing their pets during storms and floods, receive new dog training tips from the Hanrob Dog Training Academy and learn all about need to know about first aid for animals from the partner of the event, the Animal Referral Hospital.

Bring your four-legged friend for a perfect day of fun with the 500 Paws Walk, brought to you by Sydney Water and enter the Best Dressed Competition for a chance to win prizes.

Council Animal Control Officers will also be available on the day offering free microchipping to Canterbury-Bankstown residents and information on responsible pet ownership, plus what you can do stock pet friendly treats from a range of stables.

Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said the event will be a fun community day for pet lovers and their furry friends.

“It’s a great way for pet owners to get information and advice from top experts who really know their stuff,” said Mayor El-Hayek.

“You might even be able to teach your pet a new trick or two.”

Dr. Chimes added that it is also a great opportunity to grow your social network and your pet.

“I look forward to meeting enthusiastic pet owners who want to learn more about the best care for their beloved pets,” he said.

“Pet people will also be able to meet other like-minded members of the animal community.” All leashed animals are welcome on the day. There will also be a range of free craft activities to keep the children entertained, including face painting and a petting zoo.

This FREE event will feature an Auslan interpreter located at the Pets Talk Stage from 10am-2pm. Get advice from pet experts and learn how to teach your pets new tricks.
