Terrifying moment Twitch streamer falls through frozen lake after bike accident

A Twitch streamer captured the moment he fell into a frozen lake while cycling on camera.

It’s one of the lessons that many of us learn as children: never go to the top. a frozen lake because you don’t know how thick the ice is and if it can hold you.

Unfortunately for a Twitch streamerwhile he tried to avoid going to the top of the lake, his maneuver on his bike was not thought out as correctly as it could have been.

German Twitch streamer Kevin – who goes by Papaplatte on the platform – shared a video with his two million followers on his Just Chatting stream section.

The video shows him going mountain bike in the snow, however, not long into his ride, he encountered a narrow path near a frozen lake.

Kevin slows down his vehicle, trying to walk his way, however, the bike slips and falls straight into the lake – crashing into the ice and frozen water. His muffled screams can be heard in the background as the camera is also submerged in water.

Fortunately, it seems that the Twitch streamer was no damage and he made it out of the lake just fine, as the video goes on to show him sliding at speed down a snowy hill. However, if you should find yourself in a similar situation, the Royal Life Saving Society has some advice on what to do. Check out Papaplatte’s creepy video below:

The Royal Life Saving Society has shared a warning about sailing outside in more wintry conditions on its website.

The advice says: “Stay off slippery benches and wear shoes with good grip.

“Stack to the well-illuminated areas – the reduction of daylight in the winter increases the risks around the water. Plan your walks in the daytime or along well-lit paths.

“Ice can be extremely vulnerable even during prolonged cold spells. Never walk on the ice.”

However, should you find yourself on the ice and in trouble?

Well, if you fell in yourself, you need to try to “stay calm, float on your back and call for help”.

“Throw something that floats to someone who has fallen,” the advice continues.

“If you can’t climb out, wait for help and keep as still as possible. Preserve heat by pressing your arms to your side and keep your legs together. Keep your head free of water.”

I hope you have not ventured out alone and so with someone, who should call the emergency services immediately.

It states that the person on the side should not “enter cold water or ice” to try to save someone who is in or on the lake.

Instead, he advises, “Try and reach from the bench with a rope, pole, tree branch, tied clothing or anything else that can extend your reach.”

The society resolves: “Make sure that the whole family knows the safety of basic water and what to do if they find themselves in unexpected water.”
