PET NEEDS celebrate Intermittent Fast Living’s Official Chart success with tattoos

In 2024, the indispensable accessory to complete an official entry in the Albums Chart is an ink; let the world know you’re worth your salt.

In January, Shed Seven drummer Rob “Maxi” Maxfield celebrated the band’s record number 1 album A matter of time with a permanent engraving of his coveted Official Number 1 Album Award. And now, PET NEEDS they commemorated their paper success in a similar way.

Last week, the band, including Johnny and George Marriott, secured their first entry into the Official Albums Chart, with their third studio LP. Fast intermittent life debuting at number 17.

His answer? Going straight to the tattoo parlor to get the achievement stamped on them for life.

Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, Johnny from PET NEEDS said:

“The tattoo was done an hour after we found out!

“George and I promised ourselves at the start of the campaign that whatever number we got we would get tattoos.

“So when we found out after we’d made the Top 40 that we finished at number 17, we immediately went to Flaming Gun Tattoo Studio in Colchester, around the corner from my house, I got the number inked and then we parted ways for a whole. weekend!”

On the meaning of the group’s official first place in the album chart, Johnny added:

“Some of my earliest memories are listening to the charts on Radio 1 and watching Top of the Pops on TV.

“I discovered all my favorite bands from the charts, TOTP and Now That’s What I Call Music! CDs – initially the Spice Girls and B* Witchthen on top of Sum 41 and The Offspring that got me into punk.

“My first job was working in a record store and I remember queuing around the door for the first Arctic Monkeys albums, Whatever people say I am, that’s what I amt. Being part of the conversation is amazing. And being the fourth best selling band in the country right now is still a little unbelievable.

“Most of all, it legitimized my career decision to my wife’s mother! We gave up work to do this full-time 2 years ago and she finally thought it was a good idea, haha. Hello, Dawn Osborne, read it!”

On the group’s 2024 plans, Johnny explained:

“We’re leaving for the SXSW festival, our fifth trip to the US, in a couple of weeks, so our next challenge is to sell out our biggest headliner out of town; the 500-capacity Camden Underworld.

“So we have a summer of festivals, including our first major festival main stage at Beautiful Days in Devon.”
