Pet health devices company to appear on Shark Tank

Mella Pet Care, a Chicago-based pet health device, announced today that it will be featured in season 15 of the ABC television series. Shark tank. The company will present Mella Home, Mella Pro Smart Thermometers, and the Biggie Body Condition Scale to the sharks with the hope of accelerating product development, expanding distribution channels, and increasing brand awareness through invested marketing efforts.

“We are pleased to present the Shark tank investors and a national television audience to our vision for pet care,” said Anya Babbitt, CEO and co-founder of Mella Pet Care, in an organizational release.1 “With the support of the Sharks, we can expand our product offering, reach more customers, and continue to revolutionize how we all care for our pets.”

According to the release, the company was founded by Babbitt in 2019 after Mella, his rescue dog, almost died when he was a puppy due to the lack of diagnosis and preventing his health condition.1 Now, the company offers a non-invasive axillary thermometer with other products on the horizon, such as a body fat analyzer, chip reader, and pulse oximeter. Mella wants his products to allow pet parents to monitor their pets’ vitals and mix them with veterinary care.

Ben Seidman, Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder, and Daniella Morgan-Pascualvaca, Chief of Staff join Babbitt to present Mella’s products to Investors Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, Daymond John and Daniel Lubetzky .1

Mella hopes Shark tank will help their mission to change animal care technology to help empower pet parents and improve veterinary care as a way to improve the quality of life of animals and help them live a longer and happier life. Mella will launch his products at the Sharks on March 1, 2024, at 8 PM ET.
