More local gardens needed for Garden Tour

A community garden or a school garden could also be part of the tour. Residents can also show off their xeriscaped garden. Vegetable and flower gardens are welcome.

Gardens don’t have to be masterpieces. Small and larger gardens are welcome.

If people have a garden they would like to see featured, they are asked to contact peopleplacesociety@gmail.com or manager@peopleplacevernon.ca or call 250-558-6585..

“The two Nexus Community Gardens will be part of this year’s tour, and we have a garden in Coldstream secured. Ideally, we would like to have at least three more gardens,” the managers said.

The social agency could also use more volunteers to help each of the gardens, and guests of the garden are also welcome to help. Some guests prefer to be in the background, while others like to talk about their garden, and take people on the tour.

“It’s generally a self-guided tour, but we really need VOLUNTEERS and GARDENS to make the tour flourish!”

The garden tour is People Place’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
