The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has frowned on constant trips by area council chairmen following security challenges in the city.
Recall that there has been a spike in the kidnapping and killing of residents by bandits, especially in Kuje and Bwari area councils.
The minister on Tuesday described the constant trips as unacceptable.
He said: “This time, we will not be happy where the area council chairmen will abdicate their responsibilities and travel.
“We have received reports that the chairmen of the council are traveling at all times, and if something happens, they do not call anyone but that of the FCT minister.
“So, the presidents of the council should know that they have to wake up to their responsibilities. It is not all that happens people will say that the ministers do not take steps.
