Ian Macleod Distillers launches Edinburgh Gin 1670 in global travel retail

Ian Macleod Distillers he introduced Edinburgh Gin 1670in global travel retail, exclusively at Singapore Changi Airport with Lotte Travel Retail.

Edinburgh Gin 1670 is a limited edition, full strength gin inspired by the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh was founded in 1670 and is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world, renowned for its biodiversity and rich botanical collections. It is also a leading international research organization, providing knowledge, education and plant conservation action around the world.

Edinburgh Gin 1670 (70cl / ABV 43% / US$49) was created in partnership with the gardens to support their conservation and sustainability projects and is the only gin to use fresh ingredients sourced directly from the garden.

Edinburgh’s head gin distiller, David Wilkinson and the chief botanist, Dr. Greg Keneser worked together to create an original and botanically rich gin with a balanced yet rare profile.

Wilkinson said: “Working with Greg was an incredible experience. Together, we created something a little sweet, a little menthol and massively original. It’s an unforgettable collaboration.”

Lotte Travel Retail Singapore Managing Director, Soon-Gyu (Jeff) Jeong said: “Edinburgh Gin has seen positive growth at Singapore Changi Airport and it is our pleasure to introduce the distinctive Edinburgh Gin 1670 to Lotte’s customers.”

Edinburgh Gin has been listed by Lotte Travel Retail at Singapore Changi Airport since 2019. Lotte Travel Retail currently stocks Edinburgh Gin Classic, Seaside, Rhubarb & Ginger, Raspberry, Gooseberry & Elderflower and Lemon & Jasmine. Edinburgh Gin is also available at other key airports in the region, including Hong Kong International Airport, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and Sydney International Airport. Edinburgh Gin was launched in Asia GTR in 2018.
