Honey Hole Pet Services and Honey Hole Pet Emporium owner introduces a new wedding chaperone to her business in Newark and Balderton

A business owner has started a new service to accompany people’s furry friends to their weddings.

Lisa Ridgway, owner of Honey Hole Pet Services, a one-on-one pet walking and sitting business and Honey Hole Pet Emporium, a pet gift shop introduced the new service earlier this year.

The new service helps pet owners to have their best friends in their weddings, especially for photos, in which the animal can be dressed with a matching dress or a collar to be coordinated.

The first wedding that Lisa attended as a dog chaperone was last year, as she knew the owners and the dog – Roy, from her daily animal walking services.

Lisa said: “Your pets are part of your family and you want them to experience as much as you do and make special memories with you.

“It’s not as big or popular as in other countries, I haven’t heard or seen what’s going on around the country, but in the Newark area I don’t know of anyone, so I thought I’d add to that which I have already done.”

Pet chaperone services are open to all pets as Lisa says she will give every animal a chance,

The animals attending the wedding depend on the venue and its pet policy, but most will allow the animals to take pictures with the owners.

She added: “I’ve always had a passion for animals, and they can communicate much better than humans sometimes.

“I got fired from a job years ago and decided to look after people’s pets, and now it’s grown and it’s time to add something new.”

Lisa’s services are based in the Balderton and Newark area, but may extend to other areas, depending on cost-effectiveness. Areas such as Collingham, Winthorpe and Grantham, Bingham will vary on different service packages.
