Garden and Outdoor Living Expo set April 12-13

More than 30 exhibitors will show the goods for the Garden and Outdoor Living Exhibit on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 at the Christian County Extension Office Arena, 2850 Pembroke Road. The hours will be from 4 to 9 pm on Friday and from 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday.

The Christian County Master Gardeners host the annual exhibition. Admission is free, as are several one-hour seminars on gardening and outdoor living.

Among the exhibitors who will be selling plants and other goods are Superlawn and Garden Center, The Bloomery and Homestead Greenhouse. Food trucks at the expo will include Taste of Florida, Hampton’s, Holiday Burgers and Palette Junkies.

The live auction will begin at 4pm on Friday, and the silent auction will run from 9am to 2pm on Saturday.

Both days will feature children’s activities and a scavenger hunt with prizes.

Saturday seminars will include:

  • 9:30 am – Are you ready to garden? by master gardener Frank Amaro
  • 10:30 am – Christian County Historic Plants by Alissa Keller, executive director of the Hopkinsville-Christian Historic County Museums.
  • 11:30 am – Basic Landscaping Design for the Homeowner by Ashley Short, Highlandbrook Nursery
  • 12:30 pm – Attracting Native Pollinators to the Garden by Master Gardener Mary Lee Norfleet
  • 1:30 pm – Houseplant Care and ID by Dakota Moore of the Kentucky Horticulture Council
