Customers can approach Villa (which first attracted attention with its 1960s-inspired ‘Twiggy’ rings) with pictures of their precious pets. Villa will then bring it to life, working with crystal carvers in Germany to craft and paint it pictures of dogscats and more, which are then associated with gold and gems.

“We first review the picture of the animal they want to use and the type of piece they would like to wear, whether it’s a necklace or a ring,” he says. “Then we discuss the shape and size and decide on the best gems to fit their portrait and personal style. We create a drawing of their design for them to review, and once signed, we begin the crafting process.

For a ring, for example, says Villa, “The portrait of your pet is carved by hand and painted by master carvers, who carve on the back of the crystal and then paint with a fine brush, while the body of the ring is cast. in my workshop. we put the stones and the crystal in the center of the ring.
