East Texas airport prepped, ready for holiday season travel

TYLER, Texas – All major travel ports are busy around the holiday season, and East Texas is no different.

Tyler Pounds Regional Airport it’s been smooth sailing so far. On Friday, all three flights from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and back to DFW are on time.

Airport Manager Steve Thompson said staff do not expect the weather to have an impact on planes coming in and out of Tyler.

“Of course, travel delays start at DFW or throughout the system, we could feel that trickle down effect,” Thompson said.

Thompson said the busiest travel day during the holiday will be next Tuesday, as everyone returns home after Christmas.
