My Perfect Pet has been acquired by American peer Antelope, a private equity-backed pet food group set up two years ago to make acquisitions in the sector.
Texas-based My Perfect Pet, formed in 2007, manufactures a range of pet food and treats.
The company’s portfolio is focused on “natural foods, of the highest quality” with mainly locally sourced ingredients. It sells its dog and cat products in stores in Texas and D2C through its website.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
In a statement, Antelope said the My Perfect Pet brand “aligns perfectly” with the business’ “previous values and acquisitions.”
“At Antelope, we always aim to discover the highest quality pet products to add to our list of offerings,” said Antelope CEO Wendy Wen.

Antelope has acquired a number of companies since it was formed in 2021 by American private equity firm Alpine Investors.
The business bought Bocce’s Bakery, a supplier of pet food through retailers including Target and chewedin 2021. A year later, it acquired CBD pet supplement and treatment companies Diggin’ Your Dog and Super Snouts.
