Yamaha won’t have the final version of the MotoGP bike at Sepang tests

Yamaha is working on its MotoGP bike to make it much more competitive in the coming season. There will be many developments, but it will not be a 180 degree change, which aims at continuous progress and also taking advantage of the concessions.

According to Managing Director Massimo Meregalli speaking to GPOne.com, the final version of the M1 will not be seen at the Sepang tests: “It is true that, as usual, it will not be a revolution. I already know that we won’t see the definitive M1 here, but I hope it will be more competitive‘.

Regarding the development of the YZR-M1 throughout 2023, the Italian explained: “Grants allow us to work throughout the year on all aspects. We will definitely have an evolution of the aerodynamics and I hope the same for the engine. There will also be something new for the chassis‘.

In a year destined for significantly better results, Yamaha retains the 2021 champion Fabio Quartararo and signed Álex Rins.
