XL Bully attack man charged after beloved pet dog died in Glasgow street

A man has been charged after a beloved pet dog was killed in a Glasgow road attack involving an XL type race.

Police have confirmed that a 49-year-old man has been charged following the incident on Finnart Street in Bridgerton on March 18.



Abbie McKinnon was out walking her chihuahua Gizmo when someone else did dog and his owner approached.

Tragically, little Gizmo died at the scene and owner Abbie suffered a back injury during the incident.

The 25-year-old was left traumatized after the attack and has previously spoken out the record: “It was the most horrible experience of my life, I am absolutely broken by it. Within ten minutes, we lost Gizmo.

“Gizmo was only two and had his whole life ahead of him. All of this was ripped away for no valid reason.”

A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with offenses under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

He has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Officers caught the dog responsible.
