A Vernon non-profit is looking for some amazing backyards to showcase as part of its annual garden fundraiser.
The society that manages the People Place building, which provides space for numerous other non-profits in the city, is preparing for its 20th annual People Place Society Garden Tour fundraiser. The event is their main fundraiser of the year.
So far, the society has three participating gardens and would like to find at least three more people willing to volunteer their gardens for the tour.
The company says it’s looking for gardens of all shapes and sizes, from xeriscaping, to vegetable and flower gardens. Note also that gardens do not have to be masterpieces and can be large or small.
The People Place is also looking for volunteers to help on the day of the tours.
In the past, some of the hosts of the gardens have taken an active role by talking about their gardens or even taking people on the tour. They are generally self-guided tours.
The People Place Garden Tour runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 8.
