A thief took a girl’s bicycle late on the night of Nov. 18, as the victim and her mother watched him take it away, Forest Park police said.
The victim and his family live in a home south of the intersection of Madison Street and Elgin Avenue. The victim’s father said he was home when his wife and daughter returned around 10:44 p.m. As the two were walking down the alley behind their home, the victim’s mother saw a man in all black coming out of the back of the building. carrying the victim’s bicycle. The victim and his mother saw the thief attach the bicycle to a larger black bicycle and ride north. He was last seen fleeing east on Madison Street.
The victim’s father said the bike was left in his yard, and the fence was locked. I wasn’t sure of the make and model of the bike, but it was pink in color. The father believed it was worth $200.
