Suspects sought after parakeet stolen from Charleston pet store

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – The Charleston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two people accused of stealing a bird from a pet store.

According to the CPD, the incident happened Tuesday at the Petland in the 2000 block of Mountaineer Boulevard. Police say the suspects stole a “green-cheeked conure” or parakeet.

Officers with the store gave authorities surveillance footage of the alleged suspects. The CPD released a portion of the video, which depicts a male and female walking into the store. This video is included in the video player above.
