Special “Road to Vegas” adoption hoping to save lives at KC Pet Project
Before the Super Bowl, the special will include $15 adult dog adoptions and $87 puppy adoptions.
The KC Pet Project needs the community’s help. The shelter is operating in crisis mode with the highest number of dogs they have ever had since opening in 2020. Leading up to the Super Bowl, the shelter will have a deal on adoptable dogs. The “Road to Vegas Adoption Special” offers $15 adult dog adoptions and $87 puppy adoptions. “We have more dogs currently than we’ve ever seen in the history of our organization,” said Bradley Barton, manager of K9 care and adoptions. “We would like to reach as many people as possible, hopefully save some lives.” This week, the shelter cares for more than 300 dogs at its main campus. They also get 40 to 60 new animals every day. “It’s a dog in, a dog out right now at KC Pet Project,” said Tori Fugate, chief communications officer at KC Pet Project. “We have dogs that are in temporary kennels that have nowhere to go. When a dog is adopted, is reclaimed by its families, or enters a foster home, as soon as it opens its kennel, another dog is ready to fill. The community is helping us save lives now by adopting and fostering our pets.” 11 in its three adoption centers.
