Richmond Animal League to hold holiday pet adoption event with lowered adoption fees

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Looking to welcome a furry family member into your home for the holidays? Richmond Animal League will hold it annual holiday adoption event throughout December in hopes of giving every animal a home for the holidays.

Richmond Animal League works with 30 municipal shelters and rescue partners to reduce euthanasia rates in Central Virginia, according to the organization’s website.


From December 1 to December 20, adoption fees will be reduced to just $10. Adoption hours will also be extended.

Any unadopted pets will be fostered by volunteers. Anyone looking to foster a dog or cat can visit Richmond Animal League website.

Foster pickup will begin on Monday, December 18th and all pets must be picked up by noon on Thursday, December 21st. Pets will be able to return to the shelter starting Monday, January. 8.
