Reno Bike Project Fundraiser and Events | News

The Reno Bike Project, a non-profit based in Truckee Meadows, is hosting several exciting community events this November.

The organization, which specializes in making bicycles more accessible and affordable for the Truckee Meadows community, is kicking off the month with a fundraiser for a new van. This van will make it easier for non-profits to recruit and transport new members for their NICA Mountain Bike team, especially younger members who face transportation issues. The next event they are hosting this month is FreeWheels4Kids, where people of all ages and skill levels are invited to join me and help tune the bikes for kids that have been donated to the organization. Reno Bike Project will then give these re-tuned bikes to children in the community who might not otherwise be able to access them. This event is perfect for those who want to support a good cause and start their participation with the organization.

Finally, Reno Bike Project begins recruiting for its FutureCycle 2024 program. This job skills program gives young people facing roadblocks to success the opportunity to participate in 15 weeks of paid training and internships in retail bike and repair. Teenagers and young adults aged 16-24 are encouraged to reach out to the organization and apply.
