NCP, Shinde Sena leaders to travel to Delhi to discuss seat sharing | Mumbai News

Leaders of the National Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena will visit New Delhi on Thursday to finalize seat-sharing talks in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha elections.

After the first meeting of BJPNCP is Shiv Sena heads in Delhi in the first week of March, the BJP leadership postponed the meetings three times.

The delay in the formula created discomfort among the NCP camp as the announcement for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, which has five seats from Maharashtra, was released on Wednesday.

“We have requested the Gadchiroli seat from the BJP which will be in the first phase. The decision on seat sharing should happen immediately when the last date for filing notification is March 27,” said a senior NCP leader.

The party’s state unit chief Sunil Tatkare said that he along with deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and Rajya sabha MP Praful Patel will meet the BJP leadership in Delhi on Thursday.

“The announcement will be made in the next two days,” he said, adding the Prime Minister Eknath Shinde will also be in the meeting.

The NCP wants to contest on eight-nine seats which also includes Lakshdweep. However, the BJP had initially indicated that it would offer only four-five seats.
