Miami-Dade Animal Services receives donation of seven new pet waste stations and fresh dog food for its shelter pets

The Miami-Dade County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center will receive seven pet waste stations and 14,000 pet waste bags generously donated by The Farmer’s Dog, the direct-to-consumer fresh food company , in partnership with DoodyCalls, the leading brand of pet waste management services. In addition, the shelter will receive fresh healthy dog food for the shelter animals. A donation ceremony will take place in front of the Animal Adoption and Protection Center on October 21, 2023, at 9:30 am as part of the MEGA Match-A-Thon pet adoption event of Animal Services.

“This generous donation will help us maintain cleanliness and minimize the environmental impact of our shelter animals,” said Annette Jose, Director of Miami-Dade Animal Services. “We are grateful to The Farmer’s Dog and DoodyCalls for their continued support.”

“Most of us appreciate how much dogs improve our lives, but many people do not understand that dog poop is actually an environmental hazard and one of the main sources of conflict in residential communities,” said Aldo Centeno Co- Owner of DoodyCalls Miami. “We are therefore always looking for opportunities to provide our communities with sustainable solutions to help keep their residents happy while also encouraging responsible pet ownership.”

A December 2022 Forbes Advisor survey found that cleaning up after a dog is the biggest challenge to dog ownership.

“Taking care of our pets is not only the environmental awareness to do, but also part of being a responsible and considerate pet owner,” said Francisco Reyes, Co-Owner of DoodyCalls, a former official of Coral Gables police and longtime Miami- Dade County resident. “Our residential service is similar to your lawn or pool service, with our technicians keeping your yard free of dog waste. We are number 1 in the number 2 business.”
