Man Risks Life To Travel On Roof of Express Train Running at 100 Km/h, Arrested | Video

In a strange incident, a 30-year-old man traveled from Delhi to Kanpur by lying on the roof of a train traveling at a speed of 100 kmph. The man narrowly missed death because he did not come into contact with the 11,000-volt power line that ran 5 feet above where he was sleeping. The man lying on the roof of the train was noticed by the Government Railway Police (GRP) when the Hamsafar Express train to Gorakhpur reached Kanpur station.

At first, authorities assumed the man was dead and tried to bring him down, but were unsuccessful. Later, Railway Police Force (RPF) officials climbed the roof of the train and took the youth away after cutting the overhead power lines around the station premises. The GRP and the Railway Police Force (RPF) arrested the man and the train left for its onward journey with a delay of 20 minutes.

Why was the man traveling on the roof of the train?

The man, identified as Dilip, a resident of Firozpur village of Bindki tehsil in Fatehpur, could not provide a definitive answer when asked why he was traveling on the roof of a train traveling at a speed of 100 km / h.

Kanpur RPF station in-charge BP Singh said the man had traveled from Delhi to Kanpur on the roof of the coach. “If he had been somewhere in the middle, he would have come into contact with the power line and lost his life. In addition, due to damage to the OHE line, an accident could also have occurred in the train,” he said.

A case was registered against the youth and he was arrested under Section 156 of the Railway Act.
