IBPSA Announces 2023 IBBY Pet Care Business Excellence Award Winners

The International Animal Boarding and Service Association (IBPSA) recently announced the winners of this year’s Animal Excellence Awards, dubbed the IBBY. Presented at the annual IBPSA FLOW Business Conference, which was held October 1-3 in Orlando, Florida, the IBBYs are awarded to individuals or organizations that demonstrate excellence in areas such as vision and leadership, animal welfare, company culture, customer service, community involvement. and an ongoing commitment to learning, growth and development.

“The IBBY Awards highlight the best pet care service providers in our industry,” said Carmen Rustenbeck, founder and CEO of IBPSA. “They have become highly sought after and prestigious awards that recognize not only the quality of services, but also how the business has a positive impact on its community, employees and the animals in its care.”

IBPSA is proud to congratulate the following recipients of the 2023 IBBY Awards:

• Small Business (1-15 employees) Award: Pampered Puppies of Wellesley, Massachusetts.
• Medium Business (16-49 employees) Award: Scout’s Honor Pet Retreat of Bloomington, Indiana.
• Large Business (50 or more employees) Award: Kennelwood Pet Resort of Maryville, Illinois.
• Industry Partner Award (formerly known as the Vendor Award): Live Oak Bank
• Industry Leader Award: Amy Hillis

To be considered for an IBBY Award, individuals and organizations must first be nominated by their IBPSA peers. The IBPSA IBBY Selection Committee then requests a video interview with the candidates; based on these interviews, three finalists are selected from each category. Finalists are presented alongside award winners at the annual FLOW Business Conference. In addition to nominating pet care service providers, IBPSA Members can also nominate up to three industry Vendor Partners who they believe are among the best allies for the pet care industry. Next year’s IBBY Award winners will be announced at the FLOW 2024 Business Conference, held September 24-26 in Tucson, Arizona.

The International Boarding & Pet Services Association is a professional trade association that provides business resources, industry expertise, staff education and training, certifications and legislative support for the pet care services industry. . IBPSA members include owners and employees of pet boarding and day care facilities, groomers, dog walkers, pet sitters, veterinarians, trainers and providers of holistic pet care.
