WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A 39-year-old man was airlifted to Wichita after being hit by a car in Garden City Friday night.
The Garden City Police Department says emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of N. Taylor Avenue and W. Kansas Avenue at 9:20 pm Friday regarding a vehicle that struck a pedestrian.
Garden City PD says their preliminary investigation found that the pedestrian crossed Taylor Ave. from the McDonald’s parking lot without using the crosswalk. He was hit by a 79-year-old man who did not see the pedestrian.
The 39-year-old man was taken to a local hospital and later transported to Wichita due to the extent of his injuries.
No other injuries were reported from the incident, which is still under investigation. We will update this story as more details become available.
