This new Fix Mfg Payload Pocket is a small holder that deserves a little shout out, for its new mount on the bike. Fix Manufacturing’s compact EveryDay Carry multitools are already a great option for people like me who love to be able to work on things – anytime, anywhere. And now, this standard bottle cage setup just means an easier way to make sure you’re always ready to fix what goes wrong on a bike ride.
The new Fix Payload Pocket is a simple 64mm mount for its wide range of compact multi-tools. There are 4 different bike specific tools, plus snow and surf tools that all fit the new carrier. In fact, “Payload Pocket” was previously just the name for all of their various mounts that held these little rectangular mini-tools.
As a bike tech nerd, I’m partial to $50 of Fix Wheel wrench introduced in an All Time Belt. This means that every time I wear a belt – and every time I travel – I have a multi-tool inserted into the belt buckle. That specific multi-tool has all the bike repair basics, plus a Dynaplug tubeless tire plug preloaded and ready to go. I still have $55 Wheelie Wrench Pro which includes an 8mm hex to remove the pedals and a chain breaker. (But it won’t fit in my belt buckle.) The one I attached to a bag strap with the Strap-On Tool holster.
Interestingly, until now, there was no way to carry it on a bike either. But now, Fix has fixed that too!
Details, Pricing and Options
The new Fix Payload Pocket is a simple black holder that mounts directly to your bike. It is drilled with two holes 64 mm apart to fit standard bottle carrier heads or the extra tool mounts on more and more mountain bikes. It uses the exact same alloy and composite clip as Fix’s other bottoms to securely hold tools in place. tea Cargo bag it retails for $33, including the black titanium bolts from Better Bolts.
Compatible Fix manufacturing tools start at $35 more for the basic Wheelie Wrench. Or $45 for the Wheelie Whip with a chain tool, and up to $80 for the Wheelie Wrench Pro x Dynaplug Hans Rey Edition. Get your ideal combo – and mix and match other mounts – directly from Fix.
