(ST. JOSEPH, MO) St. Joseph Parks and Recreation hosted the first annual River Bluff Bike Festival at River Bluff Trails Park. Bikers from all over have the opportunity to come to St. Joseph and compete against some of the best Bikers in the state of Missouri.
St. Joseph Parks and Recreation Communications Coordinator Jessica Oshel talked about how the River Bluff Bike festival will impact the St. Joseph Community.
Oshel says “Bike Fest is a great way to bring tourism to the city. We have different people coming from Kansas City, different Kansas Omaha, we have people from Des Moines, we even have people from Colorado that come and so it’s a great way to bring people into St. Joe, highlight the different small businesses that we have downtown and throughout the city. And really encourage people to get outside and try something new without biking and walking. So, it’s just. again, just a great way to bring people into town and highlight how cool St. Joe is.”
The Bike Festival had over 100 Bikers racing and competing for cash prizes. This Festival not only included cycling, but also gave non-cyclists a chance to have a good time with live bands and games for children to play.
