Fairfield, Iowa: A charming destination highlighted in new travel book by Sara Broers

The Visit Fairfield Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is excited to announce the release of a new travel book featuring Fairfield as one of its prominent destinations. Written by Sara Broers, co-founder of the Midwest Travel Network and author of the acclaimed “Perfect Day Iowa,” the book highlights the allure of Fairfield’s hidden gems and captivating atmosphere.

Released on April 2, 2024, in Mason City, Iowa, Sara Broers’ latest publication highlights Iowa day trips, weekend getaways, and other getaways. One chapter highlights Fairfield’s unique attractions and cultural offerings. Despite being a newcomer to Fairfield until she participated in a FAM (Familiarization) tour in May 2023, Broers quickly found herself charmed by the town’s distinctive charm.

“There’s really a Fairfield vibe that draws you in and keeps you coming back,” remarked Sara Broers, reflecting on her initial encounter with Fairfield. Since his first visit, Broers has revisited the city, each time discovering new delights and immersing himself in the local culture. Planning another trip this coming May, Broers is eager to explore Fairfield’s evolving landscape and explore its latest attractions.

Broers’ book intricately weaves together narratives of Fairfield’s rich history and contemporary allure. Highlighting notable landmarks such as the Carnegie Historical Museum, the Maharishi Vedic Observatory and the renowned Due South restaurant, Boers captures the essence of Fairfield’s vibrant tapestry.

In addition, Sara Boers’ newfound passion for birds, cultivated during her visits to Fairfield, adds a personal touch to her exploration of the area. Embracing the tranquility of Fairfield’s natural surroundings, Broers immerses himself in the diverse avian species of the region, deepening his connection to the community.

Terry Baker, Director of Visit Fairfield, expressed enthusiasm for the spotlight on Fairfield in Broers’ latest work. “Sara Broers’ book not only showcases Fairfield’s diverse attractions, but also underscores the power of storytelling in promoting tourism,” Baker remarked. “We are delighted to see Fairfield recognized for its distinctive charm and welcoming spirit.”

As the pages of Sara Broers’ journey unfold, readers are invited on a journey through the enchanting landscape of Fairfield, where each chapter reveals a new facet of the town’s allure. Whether exploring its historical landmarks or indulging in its culinary delights, Fairfield promises an unforgettable experience for travelers seeking authenticity and adventure.

“Perfect Day Iowa” is the second book by Broers, who also wrote “100 Things to Do in Iowa Before You Die” several years ago. Readers who would like their own copy of the book can find it on Amazon.
