E-bike rider dies in a single-vehicle crash in Hamilton, Ontario

An e-bike rider has died after losing control and crashing in Hamilton.

Emergency crews responded to a report that an e-bike rider had lost control and been ejected from the bike just after 4.30pm yesterday (April 15) on Glen Valley Drive in the far west of the city, Hamilton police said in a press release today. .

The 36-year-old man, from Hamilton, was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, police said.

This is the sixth of the city traffic fatalities in 2024, the police said.

Glen Valley Drive was closed for several hours for the investigation, but has since reopened.

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating.

Police are actively seeking any potential witnesses to this incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Investigators are also asking any drivers in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras and any residences or businesses in the area with surveillance cameras to review their dash cam footage.
