Numerous flights to and from Dallas, Texas, have faced significant delays or cancellations due to severe storms in the region, impacting operations at both Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport.
In response to the disruptions, Dallas Love Field Airport posted on X, “Thunderstorms are currently causing flight disruptions at DAL. Stay informed about flight delays and cancellations by contacting your airline directly “.
Similarly, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport warned passengers of potential severe weather.
“There is a potential for severe weather in our area tonight! Be sure to check with your airline for any potential changes to the arrival or departure of your flight,” said a post on X.
Voicing their frustrations, many passengers turned to social media to voice their concerns.
“American Airlines. 2 hour delay from Austin to Dallas. Missing our connection to Barcelona. What a joke. Better get some compensation in the form of a first class seat,” wrote one person.
“Ugh flight from Salt Lake to Dallas delayed which means I’m going to Dallas half an hour AFTER my flight from London is due to leave. Sick of everything today and if I have to spend an unscheduled night in DALLAS I stg,” a else he wrote.
A third person complained: “Plane scheduled to leave Dallas at 7:15 didn’t arrive IN Dallas until 7:59. @AmericanAir may be time to delay AA726 an hour or more.”
Meanwhile, as of 6 pm EDT, Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Watches were in place for parts of North and Central Texas. The NWS Fort Worth has issued a flood warning.
“The threat of Flash Flooding has also increased as storms move into the eastern portions of Central Texas. Saturated soils lead to rapid runoff. If you experience flooded roads, be sure to Turn Around, Don’t Drown” , said the agency.
