Camden Garden Club welcomes Kerry Ann Mendez for 2024 opening meeting

CAMDEN – The first meeting of the 2024/2025 Camden Garden Club season will be on Thursday, April 18. Refreshments begin at 9 am, followed by a presentation at 9:30 am, by Kerry Ann Mendez: Gardening Simplified – Plants and Design Solutions for Time-Pressed and Mature Gardeners.

A gardener, author, and educator, Mendez speaks with humor and authority about all things perennial, noting practical tips on low-maintenance, high-impact gardening. Mendez has given lectures, workshops and classes in New England, the United States and Canada.

“As a ‘perennial enthusiast’ with over 25 years of hands-on experience, she is a down-to-earth communicator on all things garden,” Camden Garden Club said in a press release.

A consultant, designer and teacher, she specializes in sustainable garden and landscape design, incorporating fuss-free perennials, ornamental grasses, flowering shrubs, bulbs and annuals.

Mendez’s gardens were among five nationally featured in Garden Gate Magazine’s spring 2014 “Amazing Gardens” publication. He received the Best of Kennebunk (ME) Award as a Gardener (professional).

All are welcome to this free event.

To meet Mendez online before the meeting, he offers a webinar with Adrian Bloom, a gardener in the United Kingdom. Check here for details.

The general business meeting will follow the presentation.
