In an effort to enhance the visual feast for visitors, the garden has expanded its collection to present a total of 73 varieties, from the 68 presented in the previous season. The man behind the bloom, Javaid Masood, in charge of the garden, shared that the preparations for the next season have been completed, despite facing delays in the delivery of bulbs from the Netherlands, extending the work period by half of December

“Unlike past years, a delivery from Holland (Netherlands) was delayed this year, so the work time was extended to mid-December,” explained Masood. He assured that despite the delay, the Tulip Garden, recently inducted into the World Book of Records, will be in full bloom with 17 lakh tulips, creating a breathtaking spectacle for visitors.

Masood highlighted that the transformation of the garden involved the dedicated efforts of about a hundred workers, including staff and gardeners, emphasizing that the project was completed successfully. The Tulip Garden, established in 2007, aims to promote tourism and floriculture in the Kashmir Valley. Its unique terrace design covering more than 30 hectares in seven terraces adds to the charm of this natural wonder.

“The opening of the Tulip Garden marks the beginning of the new tourist season in Jammu and Kashmir. Since the garden has seen a larger number of visitors than ever in the previous season, we expect the figure to continue to climb,” he said Masood.
