A popular electric bike service is back in Burlington after a months break in operations for the winter.

Bird Bikes ceased all services in The Queen City in December after the parent company declared bankruptcy. While the company said its bikes will continue operations as normal during the restructuring process, the Chittenden Area Transportation Management Association has paused the program at the same time.

A short time later, Bird was bought by the new parent company, Third Lane Mobility.

In a statement Monday, CATMA said Bird will continue to run 200 bikes in Burlington, South Burlington and Winooski this summer.

They said there have already been 4,000 rides logged just in the last four weeks after the program was relaunched in March.
