An account of the architecture in TikTok explained why the residents of some North American cities could not use bike lanes despite the apparently favorable weather conditions for traveling on two wheels.

The host observed that in California, only 0.8% of people use pedal power on the way to work during the day, despite having a climate that apparently benefits people who want to cycle. Meanwhile, in Yukon, Canada, a territory known for its coldest conditions, the region has more than double this statistic.
What makes the difference is the type of bike path that residents can access. TalkingCities has observed that cities with lines painted on the streets to designate a bike lane are much less attractive than a completely separate road from the road.
Cyclists are understanding watch out for vehicles, as drivers often do not follow speed limits or pay as much attention to cyclists as other motorists. Bicycles and e-bikes they are much better for the environment than gas cars, and also they help riders stay healthy. But if people want to improve their personal fitness or reduce global warming pollution, they need to feel safe while doing so.
As TalkingCities has observed, better city planning can make a big difference in encouraging more people to trade dirty fuel-powered cars for more environmentally friendly alternatives.
