1000MTG’s second global conference reminds agents to ‘strive and thrive’

The second global conference of the 1000 Mile Travel Group (1000MTG) was recently concluded with travel advisors and partners from the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom gathered at the Hyatt Ziva Resort in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico between the 14 March to March 17.

With a focus on prosperity in today’s rapidly evolving travel industry, CEO and co-founder Nicola Veltman spoke about how the conference has enabled travel advisors to revolutionize their businesses.

“With the theme of ‘strive and thrive’ attendees were able to celebrate the successes of the global community while gaining valuable insights from valued partners, industry panels, ambassadors, keynote speakers, and workshops,” said Veltman.

The conference’s dynamic agenda featured strategies to foster continued growth, with keynote speaker and professional development workshop leader Marques Ogden captivating attendees with his journey from NFL player, to hitting rock bottom, to He took it upon himself to evolve into a motivational speaker, business coach and author.

The North American 1000MTG Top Achievers were also announced at the conference with the winners taking home a dazzling trophy to flaunt their triumph plus the ultimate getaway with plush accommodations.

The North American winners were Direct Access Travel Group – Top Agency, Sheri Deen Broeder – Top Advisor, David Petlin – Most Engaged Advisor, and Andrea Keiderling Fehl – Rising Star Award.

Reflecting on the conference, travel consultant Anne Cutaiar of Lake Champlain Travel shared her excitement: “It was an amazing and informative conference that included keynote speaker Marques Ogden. As always, we left energized afterwards to reconnect with many of our partners and make new connections. In addition to engaging professional development workshops, the conference also featured social events that offered opportunities for networking and team building. The “Taste of Mexico” segment included a demonstration by Hyatt Ziva’s culinary team on the preparation of the Mexican specialty Guacamole, followed by a session on the art of salsa dancing.

The closing event, the Fluorescent Fiesta, held poolside at the Hyatt Ziva, was a truly memorable affair, complete with attendees showing off their glow-in-the-dark outfits and enjoying a cocktail reception and buffet dinner and dancing all night. A surprise LED Circus added to the show, leaving the attendees in awe against the backdrop of the tropical pool and the gorgeous beach of Los Cabos.
