PS This is a great place to cool off, relax and enjoy nature, whether you’re going in or out of the park. Keep in mind: The Landing closes at dusk.
The Disney Horticulture team worked old and new favorites into this year’s green and gorgeous lineup, featuring more than 70 topiaries.
Right in front, at the entrance to the park: Asha, Valentino and the Wishing Star from “Wish” will welcome you.
Donald Duck, carrying garden tools and sporting a snazzy red bow tie, tends to a community garden near Connections Café in World Celebration.
Fan fave Figment stands tall at the World Celebration Gardens, with topiary flowers.
Close to Earth, check out Rafiki, Simba, Mufasa and Sarabi; and the pumbaa and Timon hurried. Between Earth and Imagination!, look for Buzz Lightyear and Huey, Dewey and Louie, along with Woody and Bo Peep and their sheep. Goofy holds court on the walkway between Imagination! and the World Showcase Lagoon.
A new and funny face is getting a lot of attention this year: Groot, from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” family, who has taken root near the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind wrinkled You can not miss him, holding a cassette titled “Green-Houes Mix: Vol. 1”. This guardian of the garden is about 5 feet tall, with the flora colossus topiary itself, more than 13 feet.
Marvel ride review: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride starts at EPCOT
Do not miss the small exquisite details on other topiaries, such as the butterfly on Mirabel Madrigal’s hand – she, along with the other “Encanto” characters Antonio, Isabela and Luisa, are located in World Showcase between Disney Traders and Port of Entry. A real standout: Miguel and Dante from the “Coco” charm at the Mexico Pavilion.
Vibrant garden destinations are many and varied, too, from the much-loved floating gardens to Morocco’s spice garden, a new gnome garden in Germany and a new PB&J garden (yes! Say hello to butter d’ peanuts and jelly!) on the Bridge to the World. Showcase Also on the Bridge: Blossoms of Fragrance, a fragrant stage with botanical fragrance stations.
For Disneygoer Janet Stine, the opportunity to be surrounded by flowery things and find food to her liking is appealing.
“My husband and I eat plant-based and look forward to Garden Graze, which features all plant foods,” Stine said.
“Flower and Garden is our favorite festival for that. Also love all the beautiful flowers and topiaries. Looking especially to see the new ones, Groot, Asha and the Gnomes.”
Fabulous food
If you’re hungry, you probably won’t leave it that way.
This year’s festival boasts about 20 outdoor kitchens, and more than 60 new food and drink choices. And they cover a diverse range of tastes, including plant-based choices.
For culinary fun, try the “Garden Graze”, detailed in the Festival Passport that you can take throughout the park. You can choose five dishes from the menu items listed, and get a stamp in your passport for each food purchased. Then take your passport to the Pineapple Promenade (Dole Whip alert!), where you’ll get a special treat. Guests do not need to fill out the passport in a visit to the festival, so if you plan more than one day in the park, feel free to pace yourself.
Note: There are also allergy-free options.
A few tasty sweets in the food landscape:
The Refreshment Port, near Canada: Plant-based Buffalo chicken poutine on crispy potato barrels, with plant-based blue cheese crumbles.
At BRUNCHCOT, near Test Track: Avacado toast. And try the Froot Loops shake, a delicious non-alcoholic drink.
In Germany: Toasted pretzel bread, with Black Forest ham and melted cheese.
At the farmer’s party: Grilled street corn. Vegetable cheese available.
And at Pineapple Promenade, the spicy hot dog, served with pineapple chutney and plantain chips.
This and that
Some EPCOT locations only lend themselves to special touches during this festival.
As you travel through Living With the Land in The Land, don’t miss scenes reminiscent of much-loved fairy tales, including “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Little Mermaid.” Keen eyes will catch a copy of “Winnie the Pooh” and a “hunny pot” in a picnic scene, and, in a nod to Alice, in the edible flower garden, look for giant playing cards and a small party of tea
And while you are in the park, do not miss the opportunity to leave the lush and beautiful Journey of Water, inspired by Moana , celebrating the wonders of water. It opened in October 2023 and, especially on a hot day, is a must-stop.
Guests stroll through tree-lined paths. Educational signage. The chance to splash water, dance and “sing” as visitors make their way to a stunning, green, 16-foot-tall statue of Te Fiti, the goddess of creation and the main character in ” Moana”.
There is merchandise throughout: Think Orange Bird, Coco and the Butterfly Collection.
Finally, the Garden Rocks Concert Series, at the American Gardens Theater, will be held at the end of the festival. Show times are 5:30 pm, 6:45 pm and 8 pm Both local and national musical acts are on stage, including The Commodores (March 17 and 18), The Pointer Sisters (March 31), A Flock of Seagulls (April 14). and 15) and Sister Hazel (May 19 and 20).
