Glenmore residents with a green thumb will be excited to hear what is being built this spring.
Construction on a new community garden will begin at the end of the month and is expected to be completed in May.
The new 830 square meter community garden will be located at 259 Glenmore Rd N.
It will have 31 garden boxes, along with an eight-foot wildlife fence to keep out mooching animals.
According to the City of Kelowna, the new community garden will be managed by the Hayfield Horizon Community Garden Association.
“The City of Kelowna is committed to creating vibrant outdoor spaces that bring our community together,” said a release from the city.
Those interested in securing a plot in the community garden once it is completed can get more information and apply through the The Hayfield Horizon website.
