David Domoney, who knows a lot about gardens and helps people to make them look good on TV, told us that his first choices for flowers to plant in March.

Camellias are really good plants that stay green all year and are not too difficult to grow. They come in beautiful colors like white, pink or red.
These flowers are quite hardy, but they do best when they are planted in a place safe from strong winds and where they can get the sun in the morning.
David explained:[These are] It is better planted in front of a wall to protect them from the harsh elements and make sure that the soil around them remains reliably, since dry roots in the summer can negatively affect their flowering the following year.
Daphnes are a favorite because they are easy to care for and have a nice smell. They also help nature by bringing bees and other helpful bugs.
You should plant where it is a little shady, like near paths or doors, in soil that is not too acidic, and where it is cozy but not too windy.
David said: “The joy of this plant is that its beautiful, purple, lilac-pink flowers appear in February and it is one of the first daphnes to flower. The smell is exquisitely sweet, making a cut flower delicious”.
Jacinthes are great because they can grow in many different soils, but they love to be in the sun. These flowers come in pink, blue and purple and have a really strong and beautiful smell.
The expert shared: “Few can resist the charm of a highly scented hyacinth and this cultivar is no exception with its gorgeous, fragrant dark brown-purple flowers.
“Planted en masse towards the front of a spring flower border, it looks and smells magnificent.”
Bergenias, or elephant ears, as they are often called leaves, are tough plants with bright and beautiful flowers. They can grow in sunny places or in the shade and it doesn’t matter if the soil is not great, but they need to keep it dry.
David explained: “These tough, perennial plants are fantastic for weed suppression and perfect for edging a border.
“Eroica is taller than most other elephant ear cultivars, producing sprays of rich, pink flowers on red stems from late winter to late spring” .
