Currently director of the French swimming team, Jacco Verhaeren he will become the manager of the Visma | Rent a bike of Jonas Vingegaard and of Wout Van Aert. The 55-year-old signed the contract this Thursday and will take up his new role later Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Dutchman is a swimming coach known for guiding Pieter van den Hoogenband, Inge de Bruijn and Ranomi Kromowidjojo to multiple Olympic gold medals and for leading significant strategic and operational changes as director of the Australian swimming team between 2014 and 2020.

“I don’t understand much about cycling”
The future manager of the Dutch team spoke the team on his career change: “II am not a specialist (cycle)but they are looking more for a leader, able to work with the staff, the coaches, talk about innovations… explained the Dutchman to The team. I don’t understand much about cycling and I’m not going to improvise the strategy to adopt in the Tour de France. But I believe that I have the training experience, of the athletes, a good performance culture.”
