Chunguza Travela Kampala, Uganda-based provider of a self-service online travel booking platform, has raised $200K in Seed funding.
The backers have not been disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to consolidate operations, build the team, amplify marketing, and critically, and accelerate innovation.
Led by Isaac Ntegeka, Sophia Oine and Ariel Ngoie, Chunguza Travel provides a platform that offers convenience for East African travelers. For the first time, residents can book flights, hotels, rental cars, tours, and activities to destinations around the world – all directly from a local website. It integrates with familiar payment methods such as M-Pesa, Airtel Money, MTN Mobile Money, Tigo-Pesa.
Launched in December 2023, Chunguza Travel serves individuals in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
